RENOVATION OF A HOUSING FACILITY FOR CANCER PATIENTS
The objective of the medical outreach in 2022/2023 is to provide social assistance in a manner distinct from our typical medical outreach.
A facility constructed in 1985 to house out-of-town cancer patients for treatment follow-up was identified for renovation.
A look around the facility reveals that it is in a pretty run-down state with patients a occupants. The facility was designed to serve those members of society who are less fortunate.
Facility Details:
- 8 room 20 bed facility. With 4 toilets and 2 bathrooms.
- Waiting room, common room and totally collapsed kitchen space.
- Small water tank insufficient to to serve the occupants,
- Lack of proper hospital type mattresses and beddings
Renovation scope was:
- fixing of the ceiling and louvers
- replacement of the doors and net
- fixing of carpet tiles on the floor
- provision of Macintosh mattresses
- provision of beddings
- installation of ceiling fans
- fixing of electrical issues
- general painting
- installation of new water closets in the toilet
- provision of bigger water tanks
- other miscellaneous
The renovation work was completed on time and budget and commissioned in March 2023.
